Terms of service

Free. No trial. Delete in 2 taps.

Short version: VODster is a free film assistant. You use it at your own risk, we do our best. We're not a streaming platform — we just suggest what to watch and help you open the film in apps like Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+.

What VODster is

VODster ("the Service") is a mobile app and web service that:

  • Helps pick a film from your VOD subscriptions based on a mood description
  • Shows title availability across 14 VOD platforms in your country
  • Opens a specific title in the VOD app on your phone

Provider: Marcin Chomont IT, Polish tax ID PL9131521572.

Account

You must be at least 16 years old to register (GDPR Art. 8). You provide a real email you control. The password is yours alone — don't share it. One account per person.

You delete the account in 2 taps — /usun-konto. No penalty, no consequences.

Pricing

VODster is free. No trial, no card, no premium subscription. If we ever add paid features (e.g. advanced reports), we will give 30 days' notice; existing features stay in the free tier.

VOD subscriptions (Netflix, HBO Max etc.) are not part of VODster — you buy those separately from the platform operator.

Technical requirements

  • Smartphone running iOS 15+ or Android 10+
  • Active internet connection
  • For web: a modern browser (current Chrome / Safari / Firefox / Edge)
  • An email address to register (or Google / Apple account for SSO)
  • At least one VOD subscription (Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ etc.) — otherwise picks have nowhere to play

Artificial intelligence (EU AI Act)

The VODster assistant uses AI models (Llama 3.3 70B + GPT-5-mini). Recommendations are suggestions based on statistical analysis of your preferences and available titles. AI can be wrong — picks are not guarantees. The choice to watch is yours. Always verify availability in the actual VOD app.

By using VODster you accept that your queries are processed by AI models of our providers (Groq, OpenAI). Details — /privacy.

Usage rules

You may:

  • Use the app for personal use
  • Create any number of lists, ratings, queries
  • Export your data (GDPR Art. 20)

You may not:

  • Scrape or reverse-engineer the VODster API
  • Attempt to overload servers (DoS, brute-force)
  • Send illegal content, spam, or infringe others' rights
  • Create bot accounts or fake identities
  • Sell access to your account

Violation = we may suspend the account. For serious cases we notify law enforcement.

Third-party content

Film metadata (titles, descriptions, posters, availability) comes from Streaming Availability API (Movie of the Night) and TMDB. VOD platform logos are owned by their operators. VODster does not host or stream any video content — we're a search engine and a bridge.

When you tap a film in VODster, the Netflix / HBO Max / Disney+ etc. app opens — from that moment, that platform's terms apply.

Disclaimers

VODster recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees. The AI can be wrong — if you didn't enjoy the film, we don't refund your time (or your Netflix bill). Availability changes constantly; VODster refreshes data once a day, so there may be a gap between what you see and the actual VOD app state.

VODster is provided "as is". We do not guarantee 100% uptime (target: 99.5%), bug-free behavior, or compatibility with every device.

Limitation of liability

Subject to mandatory consumer law (notably the Polish Consumer Rights Act of 30 May 2014 and the Polish Civil Code), we are liable for fault-based damages on general principles. We are not liable for, in particular:

  • Consequences of your viewing choices (lost sleep, arguments with your partner, etc.)
  • The behavior of third-party VOD apps (Netflix, HBO Max etc.)
  • Loss of access to your VOD subscriptions
  • Inaccuracy of availability data — refreshed once a day
  • Short outages below 0.5% per month

These exclusions do not limit consumer rights granted by mandatory provisions of law.

Complaints

Submit complaints by email to support@vodster.app with the subject "Complaint". Include: account email, description of the issue, and the outcome you expect.

We reply within 14 days of receipt. Lack of reply within this period is treated as acceptance of the complaint (Art. 7a of the Polish Consumer Rights Act).

Right of withdrawal (consumers)

As a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the agreement to provide services by electronic means within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving reasons (Polish Consumer Rights Act). Since VODster is free and we collect no payment, the right of withdrawal in practice means deleting your account — see /usun-konto.

If we ever add paid features, performing a digital service started at your explicit request before the 14-day window may exclude the right of withdrawal (Art. 38(13) of the Polish CRA) — we will inform you accordingly.

Termination

We may terminate the Service with 60 days' notice. In that case you'll get an email with data-export instructions. You may also terminate any time — by deleting your account.

Governing law and jurisdiction

Polish law. Disputes: court with jurisdiction over the Provider's registered address, unless you are a consumer — then the court of your EU place of residence (Brussels I bis Regulation, art. 17-19).

Contact

Everything: support@vodster.app. Reply within 48 working hours.

Changes to these terms

If we change the terms materially — we email 14 days in advance. If you disagree — delete the account, no consequences.
